Help Getting Started

Hello. I am about to get started in painting in Acrylic and Oil. This is somthing I havn't done in about ten years, so I've forgot much of what I had learned before.
My main question is this; I live in HOT Central Florida. I was thinking of doing my painting inside my two car garage to save from any mess and smells that could arize inside our new house.
It'll get awfully hot inside that garage during the summer months. Is this something that could affect my oil and Acrylic paintings if they remain in there during the day while I'm at work?

Hello James,
I live in California and I had the same problem with painting out of my garage. The heat did not affect my oil paintings; however, the strong fumes from the paint can be pretty dangerous for you. As long as you keep your garage well ventillated they should be fine. I am not sure about your acrylic paintings though, hopefully someone else can advice you on them.
I'd like to network with you as well, as I have been painting as a hobby for over 9 years. I have now finally decided to display my artwork. I'd like any advice or ideas or maybe if you hear of an exhibit opportunity please keep me in mind! Thanks!
