I have a hardback poster of an outer space scene signed Paul Detlefsen '69. It is unlike any other Detlefsen I have ever seen. It features a dark planet with a smaller silver planet in front of it. There is a reddish green nebula in the background. Can anyone tell me anything about this one? I'll provide a picture to anyone who can clue me in.

All I know is that he made that one painting and decided that scifi art was not his bag… Sorry I don't recall the name of it I saw one full size go for about 60.00 on ebay about a year ago… I think it should have sold for a lot more…

He painted more than one… at least two because I have two such prints on hard backboards. The first is as described. The second looks like it belongs hung to the left of the first because the planetary body that makes up most of the background on the first appears as it is being pulled into a black hole in the second. I bought them in a mall in the mid to late 1970's. -J.

We were watching Kolchak today and my boyfriend yelled out that they had my exact picture on the wall in a few of the scenes.
So we got it out, and low and behold it was the same as on tv and the signature on mine is Paul Setlefsen '69.
Ironically, it is an electric painting. You can plug it in and there are some lights that go on and off.
If you can send me a copy of the pic, I'd be delighted to see if you can solve this mystery for me too.
