It is C. Allen Gilbert or Charles Allen Gilbert. I was lucky enough to find an original print from 1902. I was actually trying to find out if anyone knows the value of this original print. It is so much clearer then the lithograph's and you can clearly read his signature as well as see more detail in his work.

: Are you sure you have the right artist? I have a lithograph "All is Vanity" by Charles Allan Gilbert (1873-1929) Many magazines and early admirers displayed this illusion-drawing as a curiosity or conversation piece. I think this may be what you are looking for it a Woman sitting at her vanity / optical illusion a skull.

: Good Luck. There are several sites on the web with this version for sale.

: : If anyone knows where I can get this lithograph, please advise. We had it when I was a child and I was afraid of it. I think my mom threw it out...I have searched and searched her house and attic to try to find it. I can appreciate it now, but I was too young at that time. ANYONE, PLEASE HELP! I have tried art stores and noone has even heard of him or know what I am talking about. I am so happy to have found this web site! Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
