REMO BOCCACCI

His recent collection, meticulously executed, is characterised by the artist's choice of smallness and fondness for his subjects. His criteria recalls the sober harmony and preciousness found in the artistic miniature codes of the 15th century. Despite the artist's vast cultural background and his revered attention towards the past, it would be impossible, however, to accuse him of "artistic traditionalism." His work, far from being pretentious, is prolific and avant-guard; a praiseworthy artistic maturity achieved from a first period culminating in valuable abstract works of art to a period aimed at the miniature. Elegant composition with chromatic tones all contribute to a precious result - a landscape rich in particulars which, while touching on surrealism, maintains close ties not only with 19th century tradition through the vibrating use of the paintbursh but also, and above all, with substance and with light.
